| BATTLE IN A BANK by James (jimjunior2001@yahoo.com) Between Jill Johnson and two bank robbers   “I just made it,” our heroine thought as she realized the doors to the bank were still open. It was a Wednesday and her bank closed at 3pm that day. She needed to deposit some money into her account today so it could be credited for tomorrow when a major bill of hers was going to be paid. There was a line of about five people in front of her, so she would be there a few minutes.   Unfortunately for everyone, Jill was not the last person to walk in the bank that day. Moments after she did, a masked man wearing a black leather jacket entered the bank, said, “Alright, everyone freeze!”, and fired a shot upwards through a glass hole in the roof. “Everyone get down with your hands over your head!” All the patrons including our heroine quickly dropped to the ground, either on their knees, or flat on their rear ends with their hands clasped on top of their heads.   Jill wondered why anyone would rob a bank these days. There were silent alarms that could easily be pushed and the police would be there in seconds. The man may not get too far with the money, but as long as he did not hurt anyone that would be fine with Jill.   However, Jill then remembered that a single mother of one of her students was working in the bank that day. If she was killed, Jill could not live with herself no matter if the man was eventually caught or not. She felt she had to do something. She took a peek up and saw the man pointing his gun towards a bank teller, right in front of her; sure enough, that teller was her student’s mother. Our heroine quietly got up and raced towards the front of the line. Unfortunately for her, one of the other patrons shouted, “Hey, what the heck do you think you are doing, lady?” and that utterance got the gunman’s attention. He turned around and saw Jill coming towards him.   “Get back!” he said.   “OK” she replied, beginning to step back. The man then turned his gun back toward the teller and said, “Now give me $5000; now!” As soon as he had his gun pointed at her student’s mother, Jill began to move forward again. However, again, some wise patron said, “What are you doing?” Jill gave him a quick kick to his chin and he would not be saying anything for a few moments at least.   The gunman turned around again and this time our heroine was right in front of him. She was in perfect position to do one of her moves. Jill quickly struck the assailant’s right wrist (that was holding the gun) with the side of her left hand, making a half turn to her left as she did. She then grabbed his hand with her left, making sure her thumb was implanted between his first two fingers so that they could not get in the correct position to fire the weapon, and pushed the gun downward and inward to his body. The gun went off but nobody was hurt since the bullet fell harmlessly to the floor. She then placed her right hand on the other side of his hand and pushed backward so that his wrist was now feeling enormous pressure, so much that he could not do anything but fall himself harmlessly to the ground while she guided him there, disarming him in the process. He was flat on his back with our heroine kneeling beside him holding onto his gun hand in an extremely painful position, with the gun lying harmlessly next to her.   The scene of this young woman kneeling over the helpless assailant was a powerful one, something no one in that bank would ever forget, especially the young women. It was a lesson to them that a trained young woman can successfully defend herself and disable men of any shape and size, with or without weapons.   Despite this, the day was not over for our heroine. The robber’s brother had been sitting in his car during this whole time watching with his binoculars. Anger seethed as he watched what was happening. He vowed to get that girl. After the police came and interviewed everyone, including our heroine, everyone was excused. Jill did her deposit and left the bank. Getting into her car, she said a prayer of thanksgiving that no one got harmed in the incident, even the assailant. She said a special prayer for the two women who had come to her afterwards and said that her example inspired them to take self-defense classes. Her mind kept thinking of the event and so she did not notice for some time that she was being followed. Eventually however she did so she decided to pull over into a drug store parking lot, and see if the car followed her in. It did, and now she was a little concerned. She pulled into a space furthest away from the store so if there was an encounter nobody would get hurt.   The other car pulled up next to her, and the man quickly got out. He was dressed in a similar black leather jacket that his friend had been, and he, too, had a gun. “Alright, lady, get out of that car with your hands up!” Jill obliged, and got out. She stood facing him, but with her car in between the two of them.   “Get over here!” he yelled, and Jill slowly walked around the car towards him. As she approached him, she made sure her hands were in a position which would indicate to assailant surrender, but which were still perfectly positioned to make a move for the weapon. That position was palms down, a few inches away from her hips. Sure enough, as soon as she got close enough to him, she did not waste any time. She quickly raised her left hand and grabbed the barrel of the revolver quickly, and twisted it outward so that the trigger guard was pressed against the base of his trigger finger. She then reached under his arm with her right arm and now with her grip on the gun reinforced, continued to twist it, and by doing that, twisting his whole body into a very uncomfortable position. Like his friend, he eventually too was on the ground, although he was kneeling instead of being flat on his back. Eventually our heroine was able to keep one hand on the gun, and put one hand on his hair, pulling very hard. He was in pain now in two places. Patrons of the drug store saw this going on, and one of them called the police, who arrived a few minutes later.   Jill had successfully defended herself twice against a gun in the same day. That evening, she was called at home by a reporter from the local television station who asked her to come to do an interview about her exploits that day. She talked to him for a few minutes, and then hung up. However, an hour later, he called back and he said that after doing some investigating, he discovered that not only had she beaten two guys that day, but that she had beaten three thugs in an alley, a muscleman on a beach, an angry father, a professional wrestler, two burglars, a homeless man in church, and two other men in a bar. She just had to come down to the station to do a full-depth interview.   Our heroine said she would think about it, and the next day, she went to a chapel to pray for wisdom. She decided that it would not be a vain or proud thing to do as she could get the message out about woman’s empowerment. After spending some time in church, she went back home, called the station back, and agreed to do the interview. The text of that interview will be the last installment of this series, as after that interviewed showed, no one dared to attack our heroine. However, before that interview aired, there were a few more battles.                                                        THE END |
